Sonor Proudly Sponsors Percussive Arts Society Drum Set Competition

Drummer’s Review

After spending years in the planning stages, plus a COVID-19 pandemic delay, the Percussive Arts Society finally brought to life the long-awaited PAS Drum Set Competition. Throughout the competition, which spanned June 15-16, three rounds of international contestants showed off their musicality, creativity and finesse behind the drums for a celebrity panel including Sonor artist Aaron Spears. The contestants progressed to the final performance under the glass dome of the Indianapolis Artsgarden in Indianapolis, IN.

Sonor Brand Manager Jeff Mulvihill recalls, “The spirit of camaraderie threaded throughout this event. Although it was a contest with a winner, it was also a great display of drummers getting together to talk, hang out, tune, tell stories, play, practice and learn more about drums and drumming.“ The finalists performed for an enthusiastic live audience as well as a world-wide online audience via livestream presenting solo, recorded track and live band segments.
