Unlike a regular snare drum the Duo Snare is 10 deep providing deep tonal contrast to your main snare. Constructed from a 7-ply birch shell the Tama Duo Snare features a tight aggressive tone with great projection. The depth makes the snare tone fatter and significantly boomier. However with the snare wire off it produces a brighter responsive mid-tom sound hence the Duo aspect of this drum.
