An omnidirectional pickup pattern gives the microphone the ability to pickup sound from all directions and therefore doesnt need precise positioning especially ideal for lavalier microphones. The SM11 is capable of matching stand or desk mounted microphones acoustically and minimises clothing noise thanks to a smooth exterior and recessed grille screen.
