Pioneering Hybrid Drummer Chooses Natal Drums

Drummer’s Review

Pioneering hybrid drummer Andy Gangadeen has chosen to join Natal Drums as an official endorser. Known the world over for combining acoustic and electronic drums, Andy is a forerunner of hybrid drumming and recognised as one of the world’s premier players.

Since completing a qualification in electronics at college, Andy was inspired to combine his knowledge with his love of drums. His unique approach led to him performing with Lisa Stansfield, Massive Attack and Duran Duran before moving on to Jeff Beck, Chase and Status and his own project The Bays.

Andy is joining Natal thanks to the superior quality and sound offered by the kits. As a drummer continually searching for improvements to his sound and set up, Natal represents the very best in British engineered tone, flexibility and build. It’s these traits that attracted Andy to Natal, who comments “Natal have crafted their drums with exceptional tonality, attack and presence. Couple this with great artist support – who could want for more?”.

George Frederick, Natal Artist Liaison Manager comments “Having known Andy for many years I was totally thrilled when I received the call from him to say that he wanted to join Natal. We are very excited and honoured on his decision to join us and represent the brand and I’m looking forward to working with him again.”

Alongside his own extensive career, Andy Gangadeen continues to inspire generations of modern drummers. Widely recognised as the father of hybrid drumming, he is an innovator in progressive drumming and has developed a following as a first-rate teacher. His influence has stretched across 40 years of pop, rock, jazz and dance music. Current players who list Andy as a mentor include Beanie from Rudimental and existing Natal endorser Oli Wiseman.
