Pearl Duoluxe Snare Drums – Drummer’s Review

Drummer’s Review

Here’s our review of a pair of Pearl Duoluxe snare drums, featuring…

14″ x 5″ & 14″ x 6.5″ models available,
released 2021 to celebrate Pearl’s 75th anniversary,
1mm chrome plated brass shells,
double inverted beading with nicotine white pearl inlay,
10 x double ended Pearl ‘Battleship’ lugs,
2.3mm Pearl ‘SuperHoop II’ steel hoops,
Remo Smooth White batter / Hazy Snare Side heads,
Pearl SR-017 snare strainer.

Pearl says…”In celebration three-quarters of a century of iconic drumming sounds and sciences, Pearl presents Duoluxe: modern take on a legendary, “inter-planetary” snare drum sound.

With the look and rigidity of our trademark dual inverted shell beads, Pearl takes the chrome-over-brass alloy shell of our classic Jupiter snare and inlays it with two finish bands of Nicotine White Marine Pearl. This gives the shell a singular look and adds tonal control to its unbridled sound.

Our “Battleship” Lugs, smooth SR017 Strainer, and solid 2.3mm SuperHoop II triple-flanged hoops balance out the package, for classically graceful drumming charisma.

A classic Pearl formula for exceptional snare drum sound. Experience the Jupiter sound with a dynamic new look.”
