Leading British synthesiser manufacturer Modal Electronics is proud to release BALTICA, the result of a cooperation with acclaimed sound designer Soundsauca. Available for free from both the Soundsauca online store website as well as Modal Electronics’ website.

BALTICA includes one hundred synth patches. Music producers and synth performers can play and record with the massive array of warm basses, wide pads, energizing plucks, and soaring leads and new avant-garde synth textures that take full advantage of the unique Extended Virtual-Analogue synth engine with 34 sophisticated algorithms, the morphable 4-pole Ladder Filter and the comprehensive modulation matrix.

“Having experienced the wonderful ARGON8 by making the Daydrifta sound set, I was eager to explore what the COBALT8 would deliver” says Michael Otton, owner of Soundsauca and continues: “I wasn’t disappointed. With its extended virtual-analogue architecture and new filters, COBALT8 delivered plenty of punch and attitude, whilst still offering that beautiful and transparent “Modal” sound. I hope ‘Baltica’ is a real inspiration for every COBALT8 user!”

To install the BALTICA patches, the free MODALapp is required. This editor and sound management application can be downloaded for all major computer and mobile platforms from Modal’s website for free.

COBALT8 is available in three variants with 37 or 61 keys and as rack module through selected Modal Electronics dealers worldwide.
