Victory's The Copper preamp

Victory Amps has launched The Copper preamp pedal, based on its Copper amplifier head from last year.

The pedal is an all-valve preamp, and is voiced after late 1950s British amps – ranging from chimey cleans to raucous rock n’ roll overdrive tones. It can be used in front of an amplifier or plugged into the return of your amp’s effects loop to bypass your amp’s front end and get a truer representation of The Copper.

While the V4 Copper has the same three-band EQ found across all of Victory’s preamp pedals, it sees the addition of a treble booster and overall tone control. The treble boost circuit is footswitchable, making it great for solo boosts or mid-song texture changes.

Other controls include a three-way bass toggle switch – which lets you tune The Copper’s bass-response to work with that of your amplifier. There’s also two independent master volumes and an extensively-labelled set of input and output jacks for different connection configurations.

The pedal runs on 12V DC, with a minimum of 800mA to power all four tubes. An adaptor is supplied.

The Copper preamp pedal lists for £369/€449/$519, and is available to order now. Find out more over at victoryamps.com.
