The Laney Black Country Customs LA30BL Head is a continuation of Laneys 50-year anniversary reissue LA100BL amplifier head. This new model is the lower-powered 30 watt version allowing you to achieve cranked power amp tones at manageable volume levels for stage and recording use. The LA100BL was the original amplifier used by Tony Iommi on the first Black Sabbath album. Along with a Dallas Rangemaster booster this pairing created the pioneering sound of the heavy metal genre. The 30 watt Black Country Customs LA30BL Head is based on an original idea from Laney in 1968 never put into production due to the view at the time of it being considered a low volume amp. Today the 30-watt valve amp is a very popular format due to its ability to get great tone at sensible stage volume; any louder and modern PA systems have the capability to capture and amplify your tone further – a feature not available to musicians from decades-past. This amp is hand-made and delivers a simple operation with a British tonality. It is ideal for use with pedalboards booster pedals and overdrives.
